COST: $40.00 per person, which includes program costs, continental breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks!

A one day seminar sponsored by the SOAR Committee of the Rocky Mountain District/LCMS will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2100 Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80214 on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Registration and continental breakfast are at 8:45 am, and the first of the presenters will begin at 9:30 am. Please mark the date and register early using the form provided on the last page.

Your registration fee of only $40/person covers continental breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, and costs for the speakers and facility.

Last year over 100 members registered, and many offered favorable comments about the program, stating that the topics of the presenters were extremely interesting and educational. We encourage you to invite and bring other Christian friends. Register a friend (or couple) who has not previously attended a SOAR event at one-half cost!

Seminar Program Includes:

REV. DR. BRIAN FRIEDRICH, PRESIDENT, CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY, ST PAUL: “TITLE HERE” The Rev. Dr. Brian Friedrich is the 10th president of Concordia University, St. Paul, officially beginning his tenure on January 1, 2020. A 1979 graduate of Concordia St. Paul, Dr. Friedrich is the third CSP alumnus to return to his alma mater as president.
Prior to returning to his alma mater, Dr. Friedrich served as President of Concordia University, Nebraska from 2004-2019. Dr. Friedrich held several positions in development and administration at Concordia Nebraska since first arriving at the school in 1991. He served as dean of development and college relations in 1993 before being named assistant to the president in 1994. He was appointed as vice president for institutional advancement in 1997 and was named the president of Concordia Foundation, Inc. in 2003 before being named president in 2004.
Dr. Friedrich is a Vice President of the Concordia University System, a member of the Colloquy Committee of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, a trustee of Mill Neck Foundation and Lutheran Friends of the Deaf boards, a director of the Council of Independent Colleges of Nebraska, a director of the National Association of the Council of Independent Colleges and Universities, a member of the Seward Rotary Club and St. John Lutheran Church. Dr. Friedrich and his wife Laurie, a 1980 graduate of CSP, are blessed with three adult children and one grandchild.

HEALTH EDUCATION: “ADVANCED TREATMENT OF SLEEP APNEA”

PAM BEHLER, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, MYCHOICE RESOURCE CENTER: “TITLE HERE” Pam is the Executive Director of MyChoice Resource Center and has been since the center opened in May of 2021. Pam comes from the Midwest where she met Jim, her husband of 30 years. She has four adult children and six grandchildren. She has an associate’s degree in biblical studies and takes additional opportunities to engage in continued education. Her work in crisis pregnancy centers began 25 years ago in Indiana. Since moving to Colorado she filled the role of development director for Life Choices in Longmont. Since coming to MyChoice Pam has been a tireless advocate with clients and their families. She has extraordinary compassion and mercy for the women and families that enter MyChoice.

ENTERTAINMENT: The Lutheran Chorale – From its first season in 1976, The Lutheran Chorale has shared its love of music with the front range community, performing a rich variety of musical works, with a special emphasis on the abundant choral tradition of the Lutheran Heritage. Under the direction of David Hodel, the Chorale has performed major works by composers such as Bach, Handel, Brahms, and Verdi, as well as contemporary anthems, spirituals, secular pieces, and motets.
The Chorale numbers approximately 50 members and has also recently added friends and voices in collaboration with local area choirs and The Lakewood Symphony. Performances include 6 to 8 major concerts each season, as well as special events such as fund-raisers, civic organizations, dedications, conventions, etc. The Chorale has also sung the National Anthem at major Denver sports stadiums. World tours have taken us to Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Scandinavia, New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, and the British Isles.
