SUMMARY:Continuing Education: What Can Eighth Century BC Prophets Teach the 21st Century?
DESCRIPTION:Monday\, July 8 – Wednesday\, July 10th.\n\nWorkshop location: Immanuel Lutheran Church\, 209 E. Barcelona Rd Santa Fe\, NM 87505\n\nPresenter: Dr. Kevin Golden is associate professor of Exegetical Theology and dean of Theological Research and Publication at Concordia Seminary\, St. Louis.\n\n\nSeparated by nearly three millennia and significant cultural differences\, the great prophets of the Eighth Century BC — Isaiah\, Micah\, Amos\, Hosea and Jonah — can seem a world apart. Yet the Spirit remains active in the word they delivered that we would be strengthened in the faith. We will consider the Eighth Century BC prophets in their original context\, compare that context to our own and apply the word of the Lord that they delivered afresh to our own day. \nClick here to Register or use the link below for more information!

SUMMARY:Continuing Education Workshop - The Book of Psalms and the Christ
DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Dr. Adam Hensley\, Concordia Seminary\, St. Louis\, MO \nDate:  July 30-August 01\, 2025 (three days) \nLocation:  Immanuel Lutheran Church\, Santa Fe\, NM \nRegistration:  Summer Continuing Education Immanuel Santa Fe Registration 2025 \nCost:  $150 (pastor and laity); CEUs available \n  \nWorkshop focus: Our Lord often quoted the Psalms and said that they testify about Him (Luke 24:27; John 5:39). In doing so\, Jesus confirmed the psalter’s prophetic witness about Himself as Israel’s coming Messiah. In this workshop we will consider how the psalter’s arrangement contributes to the Psalms’ rich picture of Christ. We also will explore ways we hear Christ speaking as He identifies with sinners. Together\, we will join Him in prayer\, praise and thanksgiving to God.
