Affirm Life with “Precious Feet”

Heritage House produces a beautiful pin depicting a 10-week unborn baby’s feet.  It can be worn anytime—but especially in the month of January as we celebrate the sanctity of human life—as a statement about the humanity of the unborn.  A handsome basket containing 100 pins, each with an informational card about fetal development, can be purchased at the following address:  God’s blessings to you and your congregation as we glorify God by caring for and protecting His precious human creatures.

Introduction to the District Affirming Life Initiative

The Rocky Mountain District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod affirms God’s gift of life.  This page introduces you to our District Life Coordinator, Pastor Ted Groth of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Broomfield, Colorado.

Greetings in the name of Jesus, the Lord of Life!

Our Gospel witness about the love of God for a broken world includes speaking to the life issues.  The Author of life is grieved by the destruction of the work of His hands, as happens, for example, in abortion.  Therefore His Church boldly defends the weak and helpless.  Together with this Christ’s Church carries out our primary function:  to proclaim the Gospel.  We tell sinners the Good News of Jesus, the Savior who atoned for every sin, who rescued us from condemnation, and who won for us everlasting life.

In the LCMS, District Life Coordinators support congregations and schools as they apply the Gospel to the life issues of today.  District Life Coordinators encourage God’s people to see the life issues not as political issues but as spiritual issues—issues that need to be spoken about so that sinners can be led to salvation and the weary to rest in Jesus.  District Life Coordinators serve as a resource to professional church workers and lay leaders to assist them in developing life-affirming outreach and ministry that is specific to the situation and needs of each congregation.

I am grateful for the privilege of serving you as the Rocky Mountain District Life Coordinator.  Before coming to Colorado and the RMD in the summer of 2013, I was a pastor in the Northern Illinois District since 2002.  During my first decade in the ministry I took an increasing interest in matters of the sanctity of human life and how we as Christians may affirm God’s gift of life.  Now as District Life Coordinator I look forward to joining with you in the Rocky Mountain District in championing life to the glory of God.
